Now that racing is done for the year, it was time to tear down the engines and check them out.

Overall both engines looked good. #68 ran 7 race weekends and #921 ran 5 since it was freshened in 2009 (rings/bearings & cam change), 11 race weekends overall.

#68's engine had a little wear on the cam and lifters, which was possibly due to the lifters not rotating properly. Bearings looked great, and the crank journals looked excellent. Slight scuffing on the pistons warrant looking into coating the piston skirts, more research needed on this.

#921 looked better overall. The primary gear had some pitting, so that will get changed out.

At first glance, both gearboxes appear excellent, but will be stripped down to be checked and change out the bearings.

Both engines will receive new rings, bearings, oil pumps, etc. and dry deck kits fitted for next season.
